Ending generational poverty is hard for children born black & poor. Education & neighborhoods where youth grow up play a big role in determining future success. Youth see problems, recognize possibilities & have passion to create sustainable neighborhoods improving the quality of life for all.
For many African American youth in Detroit data indicators paint a grim picture. Kids attend failing schools, don’t see a parent go to work and live in neighborhoods infested with blight and crime. Black youth are more likely to be involved in the criminal justice system, make unhealthy life style choices and fall victim to the systems established to help them.
Detroit youth are our hope for the future. 200,000 Good Followers can help these and hundreds of Detroit youth by choosing to support them on their quest to transform Detroit. Contributing $1 or $2 you become a catalyst for personal transformation of under resourced youth. Every $1,000 donated provides another summer job. Join nonprofits in our neighborhood to make a difference.
